Our parent organization, NYSARC, Inc. realizes the need to provide Guardianship services to individuals without family, who are in need of support and advocacy. Although NYSARC, Inc. is appointed legal Corporate Guardian, Dutchess ARC provides Guardianship support to all Dutchess County individuals represented by NYSARC, Inc. The support provided by Dutchess ARC is founded on the belief that the people we serve will be treated with respect and dignity throughout their lives.

The goal of Guardianship services is to ensure the security and welfare of the person we serve. Dutchess ARC works with individuals to achieve the highest degree of intellectual, social, and vocational growth, and to assist them in creating meaningful life experiences that enrich their self-esteem.

A Standing Committee of the Board of Directors, including concerned professionals and parents, oversee the Guardianship Services. Dutchess ARC can assist families in applying for Corporate Guardianship and is available to answer any questions.
